Title: Restoring Dutch Farmland Together: Land van Ons Joins Terry
Across the Netherlands, thousands of citizens are reclaiming farmland: not for profit, but for nature. Land van Ons is one of the most inspiring grassroots movements in Europe, bringing degraded farmland back to life through regenerative farming, biodiversity restoration, and community ownership.
A Collective Approach to Land and Life
Land van Ons now counts more than 28,000 members and manages over 1,200 hectares of land under regenerative transition. Their projects stretch from Groningen’s flower-rich fields to Limburg’s rewilded meadows: each piece of land a story of revival, collaboration, and long-term stewardship. Farmers, volunteers, and ecologists work side by side to show how healthy soil, sustainable food production, and thriving biodiversity can coexist.
Why It Matters
Over 60% of Dutch land is used for agriculture, but decades of intensive practices have exhausted the soil and driven wildlife away. Land van Ons reverses this trend: every hectare restored brings back birds, insects, native plants, and local resilience.
The 2024 annual report highlights significant progress:
– Expansion to 353 hectares across 17 provinces, including the first large-scale voedselbos (food forest) in Elst.
– Thousands of trees and hedgerows planted, pollinator habitats restored, and biodiversity monitoring scaled across all sites.
– A growing number of citizen volunteers engaged in restoration and soil research in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research.

Your Impact with Terry
Every purchase made through Terry helps fund this restoration work: literally buying back land for nature.
Each €10 donated equals 1 m² of farmland restored and transitioned toward regenerative management.
That means your everyday shopping, whether for groceries, travel, or tech, can help rebuild living ecosystems.
How to Go Further
– Join Land van Ons as a member or co-owner.
– Volunteer for local restoration days.
– Learn and share: help others discover how collective action can reshape our landscapes.
Shared Mission
Land van Ons and Terry share a simple conviction: that change begins with how we use what we already have. By redirecting the flow of everyday spending toward land restoration, we prove that the path to regeneration can start with one small act, and scale through community.
