De Jonge Klimaatbeweging (Dutch Young Climate Movement) is the leading youth climate organisation in the Netherlands. For over 10 years, it has represented the voice of one million young Dutch people in the climate debate, uniting 76 youth organisations and around 100 active volunteers to fight for a just, liveable future.

De Jonge Klimaatbeweging was founded with a clear conviction: the generation that will live with the consequences of climate change deserves a seat at the table where decisions are made. As a national volunteer-run organisation, it bridges the gap between young people, youth organisations, and politics. Together with 76 youth organisations, it stands behind the Jonge Klimaatagenda, a shared vision for a just, 1.5-degree society in 2040.
Their impact is tangible. Proposals for a generational impact test and a climate authority were adopted in a national coalition agreement. Through the Jongerenakkoord (Youth Climate Agreement), they translate youth perspectives into concrete policy demands. They represent Dutch youth at UN climate conferences. And through JKB on Tour, they deliver climate lessons at MBO schools across the country, reaching students who might not otherwise engage with sustainability.
The entire organisation runs on the energy of around 100 volunteers. From policy influence and youth panels to festivals and training programmes, everything is built on commitment, not budgets. That makes De Jonge Klimaatbeweging one of the most efficient and impactful youth movements in the Netherlands.
Young people will inherit the consequences of today's climate decisions. Yet they are often underrepresented in the spaces where those decisions are made. De Jonge Klimaatbeweging addresses three structural gaps:
1. Representation gap. Climate policy is shaped in boardrooms and parliament, but the generation most affected has the least influence. JKB ensures young voices are not just heard, but taken seriously at every level, from local councils to UN climate summits.
2. Engagement gap. Many young people care about climate but don’t know how to contribute. JKB provides concrete pathways: volunteer roles, climate lessons, panels, festivals, and a growing community of peers who are already making a difference.
3. Diversity gap. The climate movement has historically been dominated by a narrow demographic. JKB is committed to representing all young people, across education levels, backgrounds, and communities. Their climate lessons at MBO schools and inclusive panel design are deliberate steps toward a broader, fairer movement.
In a political landscape where climate ambitions are under pressure, the need for an organised, credible youth voice has never been greater.

Every purchase through Terry can support De Jonge Klimaatbeweging’s work in funding climate lessons at MBO schools, covering travel expenses for volunteers, supporting campaigns that bring young voices to policymakers, and strengthening the Jonge Klimaatpanel where 1,500+ young people shape policy input.
First milestone: The first €1,000 raised through Terry will go directly toward covering travel expenses for volunteers who give climate lessons at MBO schools.
Example impact logic:
€50 via Terry = one volunteer’s travel costs for a school visit.
€1,000 = approximately 20 climate lessons delivered.
100 Terry users = a steady contribution to youth climate education across the Netherlands.
